  • Coastal Heath Wetlands
  • Important habitat for a range of wetland species including the Long-nosed Potoroo and several small frogs
  • High floristic diversity and several threatened flora species including terrestrial and epiphytic orchids
Threats without e-zone protection

These heathlands and shrublands are located on the coastal sand plain between the rapidly expanding Lennox Head and intensive agricultural areas to the west.  The removal of e-zones could leave these forests vulnerable to clearing for the following development:

  • Residential subdivision
  • Recreation facilities
  • Sewage treamtent works
  • Cropping for Tea-tree oil, sugarcane or turf farming
